Oh God, who prepared a fit dwelling place for the Holy Spirit, in the Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, graciously grant that through her intercession we may be a worthy temple of your glory. (The Collect from Mass readings, June 20, 2020)

I’ve been seeking you all day Lord and waiting. Wondering what it was you wanted to say to me. Some days you give it to me so quickly, these thoughts and images from your holy word. Today, I could have went numerous ways. But I couldn’t put my finger down on one thing – I felt I was all over the place with my thoughts. Now here it is late in the day – evening actually. I am finally hearing you in the words “worthy temple.”
The worthiness of a person must have a measure. But who, or what is qualified to measure? To what is it compared? What parts are measured, or is it as a whole? What about those who measure and then begin adding to it – or taking some away?
These are many questions about worthiness, but it all boils down to one thing. You, Lord, are the one to which all ends are measured. No matter what method I use, without your Mother Mary’s intercession, I will never have enough. Her bringing my case to your court, redesigned, redecorated, placed most beautifully and full of desire to be pleasing to you is the only way my temple can be consider a worthy temple of your glory.
May it always be this way Father. May I always seek Mary’s assistance and intercession as she leads us me to you.
